Nutshell
The latest incarnation of the Grand Theft Auto series, San Andreas is a free-roaming action oriented shooter set in several fictional cities in North America.  Like all GTA games San Andreas has been opposed by politicians and parents groups for its brutality and sexual themes.  Certainly not for the younger crowd San Andreas follows the story of CJ as he attempts to reestablish his old gang, unravel the plot surrounding his mothers murder and follow his own business ventures.  Many new features have been added since previous installments like the ability ot ride bikes and swim.  Also added is the triathlon that a player can partake in once a week.  The player now has the ability to completely customize CJ with haircuts, clothes and tattoos.

Hot Coffee Mod
In mid June 2005 a mod was leaked to the internet that allowed players to enter into a sex mini-game following a date mission.  Many groups were up in arms over this and consequently San Andreas was pulled from the shelves.   The game returned after being re-rated by the ESRB.  MAny believe that this was a publicity stunt pulled by Rock Star to promote the game before the PS2 launch of the game.
