Tomb Raider Anniversary Summary

Tomb Raider: Anniversary for the Playstation 2 and PC builds on the original Tomb Raider which came out in 1996. With enhanced graphics, the original levels have been increased in size, and the puzzles reinvented to fit the update. If you enjoyed the first game back in 1996, where you were forced to explore and gamble on near-impossible jumps, and play trial and error with switches and platforms, then this game will clearly appease those adventurous taste buds.

Better controls and camera's also follow this remake of the original. Checkpoints have been added, and much frustration in the climbing aspect has been removed. No more accidentally slipping off a ledge and falling past possible grapples but instead turns into a crash dummy 200 feet down on rock. Lara will now instinctively grab onto a lower ledge if she does make a wrong move.

What gripes people had with the original have been erased. The difficulty of traversing the environments is still there, but with that comes the satisfaction of climbing your way out of the Earth's Hell holes with that...what is that artifact? A monkey's head? Well, if the monkey's head isn't enough for you. 14 levels, and many secrets and unlockables await.

It's a remake done right.
