Half Life Summary
Half-Life is a strategy based first person shooter. It was the first first-person shooter to tell the story in real time without the use of cut-scenes. Many consider it to be one of the greatest games of all time. Players take the role of theoretical physicist Gordan Freeman as he attempts to escape an underground lab. The game takes place around the Black Mesa Research Facility in the New Mexico desert. Throughout the game Gordan is constantly monitored by an enigmatic figure commonly referred to to as the G-Man. Although not much is made clear about the G-Man or his intentions inn game he seems to be working to help Freeman from behind the scenes.
Counter-Strike
One of Half-lifes' greatest assets is its ability to be modded. One of the most famous mods ever created is based off of Half-Life and is called Counter Strike. A multiplayer mod, Counter-Strike has become so popular that the team that developed it has since been employed by Valve and now sell the game for a profit.
