Summary:
Team Fortress 2 (TF2) is the much anticipated sequel to the Team Fortress Quake mod.  Developed by Valve Corporation, TF2 is a multiplayer first-person shooter.  During the seven years in development, Team Fortress 2 has seen many design changes.  In 1999, Team Fortress 2 appeared to be a realistic military shooter.  Since then, the TF2 design has shifted back to its roots; Team Fortress 2 will have distinct cartoonish visuals. 

Release:
Electronic Arts revealed at a 2006 press conference that Team Fortress 2 will ship as the multiplayer component of Half-Life: Episode Two.

Gameplay:
Team Fortress 2 players will choose between one of nine archetypal classes.  Each class has its own very distinct strengths and weaknesses and resemble fairly closely the classes in the original Team Fortress.  The multiplayer aspect promises to be strong and will feature a complete online stats system.
