Final Fantasy XI Summary
Final Fantasy XI is a fantasy MMORPG based in the Final Fantasy universe. Platers create their own characters and work with other players to quest and gain new equipment. This was the first MMORPG to be cross platform covering the PS2, PC and the Xbox 360. Approximately 200,000 to 300,000 (about the population of the entire united states) players log in a day to play. The game makes many throw backs to its previous games by incorporating things like chocobos and airships for transportation. The economy is different in Final Fantasy XI because it is almost entirely in the hands of the players. Most enemies do not drop "gil" so the main method of obtaining it is though the auction houses. Players place items in the auction house and other players bid on them. There are severl areas where gil is essentially lost however. Any time it is handed over to an NPC for travel or any other reason it is effectively removed from gameplay.
