World Of Warcraft Summary
World of Warcraft is a MMORPG developed by Blizzard Entertainment. It is the leading subscription-based MMORPG in the world. It is set in the fantasy world of Azeroth. Although the 4th in the Warcraft series it is the first non-strategy game.
Gameplay
As with other MMORPGs the character the player controls is created by the players themselves. All players share the same environment and can interact with each other and NPC's. Many of the quests presented can be completed without other players however. Many of the more powerful items are guarded in dungeons designed so that the players have to work together to succeed. Many of these "raids" can take players months to complete.
Expansions
On October 8th, 2005 Blizzard announced the first expansion, The Burning Crusade. It introduced 2 new playable races and a new zone to the game. The Blood Elves and the Draenei were made playable for the Alliance and the Horde respectively. A new zone called the Outlands was also added. Some content is available without purchase; most is not.
