Nutshell
Th Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind is a fantasy RPG set in the Elder Scrolls universe.  The plot centers around a new arrival to the island nation of Morrowind and their adventures.  Like other Elder Scrolls games the player creates their character from a wide selection of races and classes.  The game world is extremly large and populated with dozens of interesting and unique characters and quest lines.  Players can pursue any of these quests at any time and earn rewards as they advance in rank through various guilds.  There are no imposed limits on where players can go or do at any time, however some areas will be extremely difficult at low levels.

Mods
Morrowind is widley known for it's player-created mods.  Mods range from small bug fixes to complete graphical overhauls.  A program for creating mods called "The Elder Scrolls Construction Set" allows even novices to make mods to enhance gameplay.

Play Time
Morrowind is notorious for it's exceptionally long ammount of game time potential.  Some players have games ranging above 700 hours of play time total.  That's not to say that the game has to take hours to cmplete, the fastest time to finish the main quest clocks in at just under 7 minutes without cheats.  Also because of the fervent mod community there is enough new content being mad to play any ammount of time that the player is willing to invest.
