Warcraft III Reign of Chaos Summary

Synopsis
The game that truly put Warcraft on the map, RoC is the epitome of what an overhead strategy game should be.  The game also introduced great singleplayer-esque aspects that were a firm basis for the awe-inspiring World of Warcraft.  The basis of the game is much like that of other RTS games, and that is to collect an ungodly amount of resources while upgrading your buildings and building an army.  The kicker, that RoC not only accomplishes this, but surpasses it.

Gameplay
The player will be greeted by a very familiar (to RTS fans) view, and that is the standard Iso-overhead view.  The level of this game's detail were unheard of back in 2002, but even nowadays they make you zoom in just to see how much is really there.  The game has many units, buildings, and varied maps, which are the main requirements for any successful RTS game.  The storyline is both engaging and able to not be strictly followed at the same time.

Issues
The game can get stale quite quickly unless you move things into the online realm.  Playing the 'same' AI opponents in skirmish mode can get old fast, and the campaign only lasts so long, and that's a shame.

Overall
This game should be installed on all real gamer's PCs, as it simply is an experience that one should not miss, regardless of how old the game may be.  It's cheap too, and doesn't require a muscle-car PC, so pick it up the first chance you get.
