Guitar Hero 3 Summary

Guitar Hero 3 is the newest installment in the ever-so-popular Guitar Hero series. This sequel is noteworthy for being the first game in the series so far to not be developed by the series originator, Harmonix. Instead, Neversoft, the developers behind Tony Hawk, are trying their hand at a music game. This shift is due to the recent sale of the series to publisher, Activision.

While very little is known as to how this third installment will differ from the first two, this recently released list of confirmed tracks is definitely a sign that the game will keep both its eclectic and classic rock flavors:
• Paint It Black (by The Rolling Stones)
• Cherub Rock (by Smashing Pumpkins)
• Sabotage (by Beastie Boys)
• The Metal (by Tenacious D)
• My Name is Jonas (by Weezer)
• Knights of Cydonia (by Muse)
• Rock And Roll All Nite (as made famous by Kiss)
• School’s Out (as made famous by Alice Cooper)
• Slow Ride (as made famous by Fog Hat)
• Cult of Personality (by Living Colour)
• Barracuda (as made famous by Heart)

Also, for those of you with intestinal fortitude enough stare down the risk of sending your axe sailing through your plasma screen, the game will come bundled with a brand new wireless guitar. That's rock 'n roll.

Guitar Hero 3 is planned for a Fall release on the PS2, PS3, Xbox360, and Wii.
